Halloween Dreams at Tour’s End

LAST WEEK, I finished the official “World Tour” for the launch of Covenant, with a final bookstore meet and greet with my friends Bill Gagliani and Dave Benton at a Barnes & Noble in Racine, WI. She didn’t realize it at the time, but the store manager’s gift to us all – special Kringle pastries – made for a perfect bit of celebratory “cake” to close the book tour.  I’ll continue to have some bookstore…

Press is a wonderful thing!

I’VE GOTTEN LOTS of great reader comments and reviews for Covenant this month, as well as a handful of interviews! Here are some links to the chatty stuff: My old friends at Circlet Press did a nice in-depth chat with me this week which you can read here. I did a reading last night in Chicago at Twilight Tales, which posted a short interview here. My former college newspaper, The Daily Illini did an interview…

Twilight Tales – A Brief E-mail Interview with John Everson

October at Twilight Tales has always been something special. This year we’re trying something exciting: a featured reader paired with a themed open mic for each week from now until Halloween! John Everson first came to Twilight Tales as a reader and a staff member, and even co-edited the anthology Spooks with Tina Jens before moving on to form his own imprint, Dark Arts Books. His short story collections include Cage of Bones & Other…

Back to the Alma Mater

THIS WEEK WAS like a return to all my old stomping grounds! On Wednesday, I did a signing at a Borders in LaGrange, IL, a town that I remember visiting as a kid because my dad worked and banked near there when I was growing up. There used to be a classic old outdoor clock in the cobblestone courtyard area near the bank that I remember always looking at. I never thought as a kid that I’d grow…

Chicago Horror Film Fest – Bloody Good Fun!

LAST WEEKEND, I spent Friday through Sunday hanging out as a guest at the Chicago Horror Film Festival at Chicago’s Portage Theatre… and had a bloody great time! Friday night at the fest I finally met a bunch of folks I’d only previously known through e-mail, including  members of my MySpace friend list, the gang from www.horroravenue.net (who ran a table of horror garb next to me), Brian Kirst from the Horror Society and more… Jimmy Z from The…

San Francisco Ho!

IT’S BEEN ANOTHER whirlwind week on the Covenant book tour! Two days after getting home from my Indianapolis/Cincinnati signing spree, I had to fly to one of my favorite cities — San Francisco — for a two-day business trip… so naturally, I slipped in a bookstore signing while I was out there. On Tuesday, Sept. 23, I signed at the Borders in the Westfield Centre mall down on Market Street from 4 – 7:30 p.m.…

Roadtrip to Indy & Cincy

THIS WEEKEND, I took my second “roadtrip” to promote COVENANT… on Friday morning, I hopped in the car at 6:30 a.m. and headed out on I-80 to Indianapolis for a noon signing at the downtown Meridian Street Borders store (which ironically, is housed in a building named “Barnes”!) It only takes 3.5 hours to get to Indy from here, but there’s a time change, so I had to hit the road early… and I was…

“FF” COVENANT Excerpt

New COVENANT Review and Interview!

HORROR FICTION REVIEW has just posted an interview with me that we did last month!  Check it out here. Horror World’s LiveJournal feed has posted a nice news update on what’s going on with my Covenant book tour. And the new issue of Rue Morgue has a thumbnail review of the book that reads: “COVENANT—now available as a mass-market paperback—won Everson a Bram Stoker Award back in 2004, and after reading it, you’ll agree that this tight, gripping…
