was in a bookstore one day, staring at a half dozen new titles by some of my favorite authors. With my copyediting and short fiction reading duties seeming to increase all the time, I've been having a hard time finishing three novels a year anymore, let alone six.

"I wish everyone would forget how to write so I could catch up," I thought. This story went from there.
